Weekly Payroll Statement
What is a weekly payroll statement? A weekly payroll statement is a federally required statement that details the wages paid to each worker during the preceding workweek. This statement is required by the Copeland Act, which requires contractors and subcontractors on federal or federally assisted construction contracts to submit weekly payroll statements.
U.S. Department of Labor regulations require federal contractors to submit copies of all weekly payroll reports to the federal agency that contracts for the work or that finances the project.
You may use the form provided by the DOL, WH-347 "Payroll (For Contractors Optional Use)," to submit the required payroll information about each laborer and mechanic: name, Social Security number, address, work classification, hourly pay rate, fringe benefits contributions and costs, hours worked daily and weekly, deductions and total actual wages paid. You must also provide information about fringe benefit plans and DOL-approved trainee and apprenticeship programs.
